New Zealand 

We stopped off in Melbourne for the day on the way to Christchurch. We only had a few hours but managed to potter around the city and even squeeze in an AFL match!

We loved all of the pop up shops and cafes in Christchurch. After the earthquakes a few years ago, a lot of the buildings are now temporary. Our favourite was the re-start shopping mall, where each shop was in a shipping container! Kaikoura was a huge highlight of the trip as it was our first stop in the van. We went to sleep on a spot on the beach, surrounded by seals, and awoke to dolphins! Kaiteriteri was another coastal location, as was Punakaki, where the pancake rocks and blowholes were.
